Packing for a Move

Welcome to my website. I’m hoping to provide you with some useful packing tips. My name is Ellen Monday. My family and I moved from a very large home to a large home. My point being, although we still live in a large house, we did downsize. It was almost like packing for two moves because we had belongings going to the new house and some going to storage. We had to make decisions about what we wanted to keep, store and get rid of. I have some tips on how we made those decisions, and the best ways we found to pack. Items that were going into storage were packed differently than those we were moving to the new house. Boxes had to be carefully and clearly marked so we didn’t end up storing our everyday dishes or something tragic like that! Hope you enjoy my blog.

Learn About A Direct Vent Fireplace System

Aaron Carroll

If you wish that you had a fireplace in your home, then you might want to consider going with a direct vent fireplace. Not only will they help you to enjoy some of the visual benefits that fireplaces offer, but they will do it while also offering you many other fantastic features. If you don't know much about a direct vent fireplace, then this information on what they offer will prove to be useful to you.

A direct vent doesn't require a chimney

You may think that putting in a direct vent fireplace is going to take a lot to put in because it would need a chimney. However, the great news is that this type of fireplace uses a venting system that vents to the outside directly through a wall. This way the system will bring in the fresh outside air to the firebox and this offers your home great air quality. There are very few parts needed and the work that needs to be done is relatively easy. If you do happen to already have a chimney, then you will be able to use that chimney as the vent.

A direct vent fireplace doesn't require electricity

There are some parts of the system that will require batteries to work, such as the blower. However, the burner and the flame control can be powered by regular batteries. This is great for those times when you have a power outage and you want to use your direct vent fireplace. Even though the blower isn't functional without electricity, you will still be able to generate a good amount of warm air into the room from the radiant heat that comes from the front of the unit. You also have the ability to choose the direct vent insert you want, so your fireplace will look the way that you want it to.

A direct vent fireplace is an efficient way to heat your home

The design of this fireplace system can allow for you to efficiently heat the room that it is in, which is usually a living room or a family room. However, its design will also allow you to easily have venting installed that can be directed into other areas of the room. You can choose how you run the system, so you can use its radiant heat when you only want the room it is in heated, but you can them turn the system on when you want the heat to be blown from the system to spread the warm air and the way in which the heat is generated makes this an efficient way to heat.
