Packing for a Move
About Me
Packing for a Move

Welcome to my website. I’m hoping to provide you with some useful packing tips. My name is Ellen Monday. My family and I moved from a very large home to a large home. My point being, although we still live in a large house, we did downsize. It was almost like packing for two moves because we had belongings going to the new house and some going to storage. We had to make decisions about what we wanted to keep, store and get rid of. I have some tips on how we made those decisions, and the best ways we found to pack. Items that were going into storage were packed differently than those we were moving to the new house. Boxes had to be carefully and clearly marked so we didn’t end up storing our everyday dishes or something tragic like that! Hope you enjoy my blog.

Have A Damaged Irrigation System? Make These Repairs And Upgrades Today

Aaron Carroll

If you have an irrigation system for your home but it hasn't worked properly for years, and you want to start using it again to improve your lawn, get the professionals over to assess the problems. Not only can you get the system repaired, but it may be time to make some updates to the system as well. Talk with the company about these things.

Repair Costs

Ask the sprinkler repair company what the cost will be to repair the current sprinkler components you have, and what houses or mechanical pieces have to be repaired. Unfortunately, the company may not know how bad the damages are until they get underground and can see the condition of the irrigation system. You may need more than one quote.

Efficiency Upgrades

There are features you can have installed when repairing and upgrading the system that will help you conserve water and have a more efficient system. These include:

  • Soil moisture sensors to determine if the grass needs watering
  • Timer system so the water only runs for set amounts of time during the day
  • Wireless manual shutoff in case it starts raining while you aren't home

Ask about these updates and upgrades so you can save on your water bill each month and prevent overwatering your grass.

The Average Water Expenses

If you have concerns about the cost of watering your grass all year long, calculate an estimate of how much water you will use. You will divide the sum of gallons used by 1,000 and then multiply this by the price you pay to the water company per 1,000 gallons. This can help you budget and prepare.

Hydroseeding Afterwards

Digging up the irrigation system can make a mess throughout your lawn and around the property. Get an estimate for hydroseeding after the work is completed. This is one of the fastest ways to get grass and get your lawn back to normal.

If you want to maintain your yard and improve the way it looks you'll want to start by improving and repairing the irrigation system. Proper lawn watering can be the difference between lush green grass, and a yard that is discolored and coarse.

Once the new grass is grown you can look into the proper treatments and weed care. Repairing and updating the irrigation system is also a great feature down the road if you want to sell your home.
